Hi, I’m Sophia Lee 👋
I started Savory Table in 2019 out of pure frustration. I kept finding recipes online that either didn’t work, weren’t written clearly, or were dressed up with so much lifestyle content that the actual recipe got buried.
I spent 12 years as a professional chef working in restaurant kitchens from San Francisco to Barcelona and I know that the difference between a recipe that works and one that doesn’t often comes down to one or two critical details that most food writers skip over.
Savory Table is my answer to that problem. Every recipe here is tested a minimum of three times in a real home kitchen (not a professional one), written with the assumption that you’re a competent adult who deserves to be told why things work, not just what to do.
Whether you’re cooking for one or feeding a crowd, I want every visit to this site to leave you more confident and more excited to cook.
Our Core Values
Everything we publish is filtered through these three principles.
Obsessive Testing
We don’t publish a recipe until it’s been made three times, troubleshot for common errors, and confirmed to work with widely available ingredients and standard home equipment.
Radical Clarity
Instructions should tell you what to do AND what to look for. “Cook until golden” is lazy writing. We tell you what golden looks, smells, and sounds like.
Seasonal & Sustainable
We prioritize recipes that work with seasonal produce and include substitutions for hard-to-find ingredients, because great cooking shouldn’t require a specialty store.
Every recipe here is crafted with passion, making tastivohub my go-to for cooking inspiration.
